Shaitan
of Tortola is owned & operated by Henry Metz
and Iris Moesing. Henry and Iris left their homeland
Germany and sailed to the Caribbean, where they have
spent the last fifteen years together working and
living on boats.
Henry has been sailing for thirty years. He served
as a navigator in the navy and went on to several
Atlantic crossings on a 29 ft. sloop. In addition
to his racing experience, Henry is a dive master,
knowing the best dive spots all over the Eastern Caribbean,
and sailing instructor. Besides sailing Henry loves
to build and create - all evident in most of the custom
refitting done on Shaitan by Henry himself.
Iris
has crossed the Atlantic with Henry on a 29 ft. sloop.
She is a dive master as well and can take certified
divers on guided dive tours. Iris has served as a
cook on charters forfifteen
years and is a four - time winner in the Grand Marnier
cooking competition. She enjoys horseback riding,
flower arranging and eating good food. The underwater
experience is very special to Iris and she particularly
enjoys bringing that same appreciation to others.
Elsie
also resides on Shaitan. She loves people and will
bring many playful moments to your stay. And
she really likes the "Little Ones"
